Leadership Development

Weinstein Fellowship

The George Weinstein Fellowship is the leadership development program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. It has become a nationally-recognized program that brings together a diverse group of young adults to learn the leadership skills necessary to becoming an active leader and decision maker in the Milwaukee Jewish community. Weinstein Fellows go on to leadership positions not only at the Federation but at synagogues and other Jewish organizations throughout the city.

Fellows meet monthly to learn from professionals and volunteers in our community, as well as from each other. A key part of the curriculum is a highly subsidized trip to Israel in which Fellows meet with peers in our Partnership2Gether region, Sovev-Kinneret, as well as tour and learn about leadership through an Israeli lens.

The Fellowship was established by the Weinstein family to honor the memory of George Weinstein, a Milwaukee businessman and philanthropist who was committed to ensuring that the Milwaukee Jewish community goes from strength to strength across the generations. It has become a nationally-recognized program and is studied by other communities as a model for developing young leaders.

Stay tuned for information on the next cohort of the Weinstein Fellowship. If you have questions, please contact YLD Director, Lauren Berger, at 414-390-5702.
