Welcome to the Young Leadership Division of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.

We are the future leaders of the Milwaukee Jewish community, a diverse group of individuals, ages 25-45, and we plan to leave our mark and make a real difference.

We are your Division Chairs:  Becca Guralnick and Andrea Florsheim. We’re already working on new programming that we hope you’ll find fun and interesting. Please watch this page for information about future events.

Rebecca Guralnick, who came to Milwaukee from Winnipeg, Canada, is trained as both a chef/cooking instructor and an attorney. Her volunteer commitments in the Jewish community are focused on the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC), the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) and the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.

Andrea Florsheim will take Mitch Nelles' place as Co-Chair for this division, working with Becca Gurlanick.  Andrea has been an extremely active member of our community with her involvement as a Weinstein Fellow, in the YLD and with NCJW.  She is excited to get involved with this vibrant division.  Andrea brings a lot of creative energy to the table that is certain to enhance our programming and activities.

We’ll have more information coming soon, but in the meantime, if you’d like to get involved, please contact Elizabeth Goldberg, Director of Volunteer Engagement at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. We look forward to getting to know you!

The 2010-2011 Young Leadership Council includes Becca and Andrea as well as:  Andrew Abrams, Monica Arnstein, Brian Cayle, Jen Friedman, Sarah Hwang, Brian King, Julie Lookatch and Becca Steinman. The Council will lead and direct the activity and programming of the Young Leadership Division (YLD) and coordinate young adult activity with other Jewish organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. The Council will also articulate the mission of the Federation and its commitment to our local and global Jewish community through the Annual Campaign.

The overarching goals for the Council are outreach, engagement, education, leadership development, long term involvement and positive experiences. It is the hope that this focus, over time, will produce committed leadership and donors to the Federation system and the Jewish Community.

Thanks for coming!

A special thank you to all who attended the Benjamin E. Nickoll luncheon on August 31, honoring David Arnstein. View photos.

Congratulations

Congratulations to this year’s Young Leadership Award winners.  Jill Plavnick was recognized with the Ann Agulnick Young Leadership Award at the Women’s Division Annual Meeting in April, and David Arnstein was selected to receive the 2010 Benjamin E. Nickoll Young Leadership Award.
