Convening the Community

The first-ever Milwaukee Jewish Community Summit met on June 26-27, 2011 at the Milwaukee Public Museum.  Groups created dream statements, expressing their vision for an ideal future state of Jewish Milwaukee.  The Summit closed with the setting forth and first steps on a series of Community Initiatives spontaneously suggested by Summit participants.

The Strategic Action Session (SAS) brought together 44 individuals on August 2-3, 2011.  Feedback from the community, obtained through the cascading interviews and the Community Summit, formed the jumping-off point for design of the new MJF and the creation of a road-map to get us there.  Groups worked to improve the way we develop financial resources; connect to donors; govern and structure ourselves; relate to partner agencies; define our scope of activity; convene on behalf of the community; and communicate.
