I am writing to urge you to sign the bipartisan letter being circulated by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) and committee member Eliot Engel (D-NY) to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The letter calls on Abbas to take immediate action to end the incitement and stop the escalating violence in Israel.

In recent weeks, Palestinian terrorists have conducted violent attacks resulting in the murder and wounding of dozens of Israeli citizens. President Abbas and other Palestinian leaders have incited this activity by making inflammatory comments about the Temple Mount and the peace process.

The Royce-Engel letter calls on President Abbas to deescalate the situation by condemning the attacks and taking “concrete steps to avoid further violence.

I urge you to sign the Royce-Engel letter to support Israel, the United States’ greatest ally and the only democratic nation in the Middle East.
