Experience the beginning of your New Year in the warm and welcoming ambience of Congregation Anshai Lebowitz.  Practicing Modern Orthodoxy “with an inclusive approach,” Rabbi Pinchas Yehuda Levin and returning Israeli Cantor Avner Zadok will lead us with beautiful chanting and memorable D’vrei Torah on a path of reflection of the year past and towards hopeful anticipation of the year ahead.  Commencing with Rosh Hashanah evening services on September 29, 2019 and ending with the sounds of the Shofar on the evening of Yom Kippur, October 8, our spiritual journey of teshuvah, tefilah, and tzedekah (repentance, prayer, and charity) will be most memorable, resulting in a Shanah Tovah for all.

Members and non-members of all denominations are welcome.  Gender-separate as well as mixed seating sections are available and davening is in Hebrew and English.  Neither tickets nor reservations are required.  Contributions are customary and appreciated.

Specific times of all High Holiday services including Sukkot can be found at CAL High Holiday 2019 Season Schedule or by calling the synagogue office at 262-512-1195.

Congregation Sons of Abraham is a warm, welcoming community.  We are a fully egalitarian congregation.  Congregation Sons of Abraham is an egalitarian synagogue affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.  We provide Jewish people from a radius of 75 miles with a place for worship, social contact and education.  The vitality of the synagogue derives from the good people who work to make it a warm and special place.

Cantor Brian Serle will use the Machzor Lev Shalem prayer book for the High Holy Days.  Although we sing many of the prayers in Hebrew, we use many English readings and meditations to help everyone feel included.  Most attendees will get a chance to lead an English reading.  Our services are meaningful and inspiring.  We plan on having a congregant perform Kol Nidre on viola before the Erev Yom Kippur service.  Many congregants will take part in leading the various services, Torah readings and Shofar blowing.  There will be services for children during adult services.  Tashlich –  the scattering of our sins into moving waters – is especially fun for the kids.

All are welcome.  No tickets or fees are ever required.

Warning – come for the High Holy Days, and you will want to come back often for Shabbat services!
