Briefing on Anti-Semitism in Paris

Hannah Rosenthal, president and CEO of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and former Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism at the U.S. State Department, will brief the Milwaukee community about her recent visit to Paris. Rosenthal joined Jewish leaders from 18 communities across North America who participated in a mission to express solidarity with the Jews of France. The mission was organized by the Jewish Federations of North America.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015
Noon to 1:30 PM
Milwaukee Jewish Federation – Board Room
Evan and Marion Helfaer Community Service Building
1360 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee

Mission participants visited the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket where four Jews were killed in January, and they met one of the women held hostage during the attack and the police officer who secured her release. They also met with the editor-in-chief of Charlie Hebdo, the Israeli and U.S. ambassadors to France and France’s Chief Rabbi, and they received briefings from security experts and the French Jewish community leadership.
