The Sam & Helen Stahl Center for Jewish Studies is delighted to bring Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell to Milwaukee as part of its series, “The Colors of Jewishness.” Anthony Russell is a vocalist, composer and arranger specializing in Yiddish art and folk song, chazones, and Chasidic nigunim.

Convergence combines 100 years of traditional Ashkenazi Jewish and African American music directly at historic, melodic and textual crossroads. Russell, in collaboration with acclaimed klezmer consort Veretski Pass, creates a new repertoire of works exploring exile, spirituality, hope and redemption.

This event is free and open to the public.
