Miryam Rosenzweig

Miryam Rosenzweig is President and CEO of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. She is proud to be part of a community with a tradition of leadership, philanthropy and a commitment to taking care of the needs of the Jewish People and building a vibrant Jewish future in Milwaukee, in Israel and around the world.

Miryam has years of community building and development experience, most recently at the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit where she served as Chief Development Officer. She led the organization’s Philanthropic Advancement team, overseeing all fundraising and resource development. Previously, Miryam served as Senior Director of Community Development, leading the organization’s Community Engagement teams. She began her tenure at the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit in 2011 as the founding Director of NEXTGen Detroit, a groundbreaking initiative she helped develop from prior young adult engagement groups. With her bold and innovative approach to outreach, engagement and leadership, Miryam created a dynamic model that has influenced communities across the country in the engagement of young adult populations.

Before moving to Detroit, Miryam was the Head of Development Initiatives at World ORT, and was charged with developing and managing global NEXTGen strategy. She also served as the Associate Director of National Young Leadership at Jewish Federations of North America, overseeing National Young Leadership Cabinet programming, missions and national conferences. In addition, she was the Director of Volunteers at the Educational Alliance where she grew the organization’s volunteer base from 100 to 11,000 in four years.

Miryam earned a BA in fine arts and psychology from Yeshiva University and an MSW from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Miryam is a citizen of the United States, Canada and Israel. She lived in Detroit for eight years and in New York for 16 years prior to that. She currently lives in downtown Milwaukee with her husband, Matthew Burchi.
