Michael I. Sattell 

Mike joined Milwaukee Jewish Federation (MJF) as Chief Financial Officer in January 2023, following a 30-year career in public accounting and twelve years as President & CEO of Ovation Communities.  He graduated from UW Madison (BBA-1981), becoming a CPA in 1984, and joined his family’s business, Sattell, Johnson, Appel & CO, SC, where he became managing shareholder and provided professional services to closely held businesses and their owners as well as many not-for-profit organizations, including several constituent agencies of MJF. Mike also specialized in valuation and fraud investigation, and as a Certified Fraud Examiner and certified in financial forensics, he assisted clients in complex litigation engagements and white-collar crime investigations. As a member of many not-for-profit boards, Mike was then asked to lead Ovation Communities and its supporting Jewish Home and Care Center Foundation in 2011, providing a quality Jewish environment to our community’s elders. As President & CEO he set the strategic vision for perpetuating Ovation’s almost 120-years of outstanding care and services, inspired by the fifth commandment—of honoring our mothers and our fathers.
