Dignity Grows empowers individuals assigned female at birth by providing feminine hygiene products to those who cannot afford them. Every month, girls and women stay home from school or work during their periods. Students miss critical learning time and women miss critical pay, further compounding the cycle of poverty.
In August 2021, the WP social action committee packed 150 Dignity Grows tote bags with essential supplies and presented them to the 16th Street Community Health Center. We also welcomed Wisconsin State Senator Melissa Agard to share in the event. Sen. Agard is leading the charge of eliminating feminine taxes in Wisconsin and around the world.
If you’d like to make an immediate impact, consider donating to support Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s involvement. Every $10 raised buys supplies for one tote to be donated to women who can’t afford them.
